I offer a warm hearted space both in person and online. I’m a registered member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work under their ethical framework.

Consultation
Initially I offer a free 30 minute online consultation so you can talk about what you are looking for in counselling, and find out if I am the right therapist for you. This is an opportunity to say what your goals are.
Before the consultation I will ask you to fill out an assessment form which asks questions about why you are looking to start counselling and a bit about your history and experiences that bring you here. I will ask you questions in our consultation about this.
Together we will decide if we are going to start counselling. I advise that we do a minimum of 6 weekly sessions, lasting one hour in length. Its my ethical responsible to offer confidentiality, and a safe space for you, so I’ll ask you to read and sign a contract which details the T’s&C’s of working together. This is important because counselling can address difficult experiences including trauma and following the BACPs ethical framework means that I am making sure its safe to do this process.
On the 6th session we review, asking if things have improved for you and if so in what way. We can then decide to continue working together for another 6 weeks or in an open ended way. All of our contracting together happens in our session time as this is a part of the therapeutic relationship. We have a mutually consentual agreement to work together, reviewing both progress and what is working and what isn’t as we go along.
Its your decision to finish at anytime you wish, however I will always endeavour to hold a closing session in which we can review, pack things away, close and set goals for your next step.
Many clients have told me that I am warm and friendly and they have felt welcomed and at ease.
In the cabin
My in-person work is at my counselling cabin in Street, Somerset. My cabin is tucked away on a quiet residential street, with easy free parking adjacent. Its only about 10 minutes walk away from the main bus station in Street. Street is 10 minutes from Glastonbury, 20 minutes from Wells, 30 minutes from Bridgewater, and nearby the M5.
Walk & talk
I also do walk & talk counselling sessions at The Ham Wall Nature Reserve in Sharpham, which is 15 minutes outside of Glastonbury and accessible by car with lots of parking.
Online
I will send you a video link to our online room. Its fully encrypted and confidential. This does require that you have a safe, confidential space with a good internet connection at your end.
Confidential Space
Counselling is confidential, so I will not disclose what you share with me. Its a safe space for you. As I work under the ethics and guidelines of the BACP this means that all my work is supervised. I may take aspects of our work together to supervision but not in a way that would reveal your identity.
